A Review of ANNA'S jmix

I read Anna's paragraph about her favorite season. I learned that her favorite season is winter. Although it is cold and freezing outside almost all the time, the holidays and people she meets keeps her heart warm and nice. She thinks that winter is a season for hugging. I can not agree her more.

COCA SEARCH

Good

Meaning: 1.correct
                2.completely and thoroughly

Grammar & Rules : NOUN or ADJECTIVE, sometimes used in a PHRASE

Examples from Corpus
1) In grade 4 reading, thirty-five states have set their proficiency levels lower than NAEP's basic level.7 How can that reform education? Reform at the National LevelLet's look at the national scene. Here, too, each new administration wants to move in a different direction, or at least to change the emphasis. What's consistent is that there's always much righteous posturing but little effort to create the conditions that make high standards achievable. The No Child Left Behind Law (NCLB) is a good example. It began with the best of intentions, but the funding to improve education originally envisioned was never provided. In the end, all it did was to impose requirements for testing. In other words, NCLB actually did nothing to improve education; it merely required that kids be tested regularly in the hope that education would somehow, magically, improve itself. And here's the most bizarre feature of all: NCLB required that every student be proficient in reading and math by 2014.

2) The most notable recent alteration to the narrative, however, is Mary's presumed romantic tie to James Oglethorpe, which closely resembles the story of unrequited love between Pocahontas and Captain John Smith. The genesis of this bit of Musgrove lore can be traced to Thomas Bosomworth's assertion that James Oglethorpe gave Mary " the diamond ring off his finger " before departing for good to England in 1743.66 Bosomworth's motive for mentioning this was not to insinuate that the two were romantically involved (if anything, Mary was disillusioned with Oglethorpe at that time), but rather to illustrate how Oglethorpe resorted to drastic measures to compensate Mary for interpreting. In the hands of recent novelists, however, the story of the diamond ring has given rise to the legend that Oglethorpe desired Mary's hand in marriage--or at least bequeathed it to her as a lasting reminder of their love affair.

MY SENTENCE:
1. I am trying my best to be a good student, brother, and son.
2. Are you leaving for good?

Mesmerize
Meaning: 1.to make people impressed and charmed

Grammar & Rules : VERB or ADJECTIVE

Examples from Corpus

1) Two, I like your new hair color, but the turquoise contact lenses make you look like you're trying to mesmerize people. And, three, I came up with a list of personal resolutions that will begin to take effect Valentine's Day. " # " Sounds fascinating. Can you elaborate, Counselor? " # I described my plan and my goals, leaving out the She-Hulk details. Dahlia thought they were genius, but she'd also convinced me to wear lederhosen and pigtails once to a dorm Oktoberfest dinner, so she's not the most reliable judge.

2) Our powers of deduction pale next to those of Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot; we haven't the toughness of Sam Spade or the fortitude of Philip Marlowe; the saintly Father Brown shames us, and the infinite patience of Inspector Maigret lies infinitely beyond us. No, we are the bystanders, innocent or guilty as the case may be. Consider this proposition: Detective stories mesmerize us as they do because our love of mystery is matched only by our Longing for certainty-and because we find it hard to tolerate the condition of doubt and guilt in which we are destined to live. The officer in Kafka's " In the Penal Colony, " Propouncing his universal verdict, identifies one reason for the mystery genre's enduring popularity. " My guiding principle is this, " he declares. " Guilt is never to be doubted. "

MY SENTENCE:
I was mesmerized by the scene. I could not utter a word.

Infinite

Meaning: 1.endless
                2.extreme or great

Grammar & Rules :  ADJECTIVE

Examples from Corpus

1) Christian revelation sheds an illuminating and beautiful light on evolution. Haught's daring and provocative insight is to interpret evolution in light of God's living self-communication. He believes that cosmic evolution is a sacramental revelation of God's personality, that it is the narrative representation of God's self-gift to the cosmos. We live in an unfinished universe. # Haught points out that in its finitude the cosmos can not receive God's self-gift in any single moment; even though the universe may seem unfathomable, it is not expansive enough to contain an infinite love. The cosmos is therefore invited to evolve. He writes in Mystery and Promise: # Christians? may understand the decisiveness of Christ as the moment in evolution when God's promise and self-gift, which has been continually and creatively present to the cosmos from its birth, are embraced by a human being without reservation.

2) I had heard males drumming in the spring, found a nest with seven eggs, seen broods of young in the summer, and, as usual, noticed grouse around all fall. In the evenings, we saw them routinely in the treetops. By winter, the travails of the other birds seemed almost heroic as they found food that to us seemed invisible. For some woodpeckers, food was only available by chiseling it out of solid wood. But the ruffed grouse were flush with food the entire winter. They have a nearly infinite winter supply of tree buds that are readily available and require practically no search. Thus, grouse seemed irrelevant as I contemplated the efforts of chickadees and woodpeckers. # I had not seen a grouse in quite a while, when, in February, on a bright, sunny day, I was hiking in the woods on snowshoes. As I walked through a grove of mostly deciduous trees, the sun lit up the expanse of snow under the trees.

MY SENTENCE:
If I am in a relationship, I will give infinite love to my partner.
